In winter, the tubers of flowers such as red cress, dahlia and canna must be dug up and placed indoors to keep warm, or covered with straw bags to prevent freezing; Potted plants should be placed in a warm place, otherwise they are easy to be damaged by freezing.

The foliage plants, such as cycads, asparagus, water bamboo, brown bamboo, tortoise shell bamboo, Fujian tea, cold water flower, cattail anemone, Yuejing mountain grass, pheasant hairy mountain grass, chlorophytum comosum and various dayflower, are relatively cold resistant. As long as there is no ice inside, they can survive the winter safely. However, the balsam pear should be kept warm at a higher temperature, the minimum temperature should be above 5 cC, and it should be placed indoors in a sunny place. If the temperature is too low or it is placed indoors for a long time, it is easy to freeze the leaves and affect the ornamental value.
3. The succulent plants, such as Crab Claw Orchid, Lingjian Lotus, Epiphyllum, Hupi Orchid, and various cacti, are tropical in origin, and have a habit of being afraid of cold, so they all need antifreeze and warmth. In particular, the crab clawed orchids and various cacti grafted on the “three edged arrows” should be kept warm at about 10 ℃. Otherwise, the “three edged arrow” is liable to be damaged by freezing, resulting in the death of the whole plant.
4. In addition, in order to make the potted camellia, azalea, clivia and other valuable flowers and trees survive the winter safely, they can be placed in the outdoor balcony or plastic shed with three sides sealed, one side ventilated and sunny, which is conducive to the future growth and flowering. However, it should not be put in the bedroom for a long time, because the bedroom is poorly ventilated in winter and the environment is relatively dry, which will cause leaf falling and bud withering after a long time, affecting the growth and flowering.
